I have learned

I’ve learned - that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them. I’ve learned - that no matter how much I care, some people just don’t care back. I’ve learned - that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it. I’ve learned - that no matter how good a friend is, they’re going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that. I’ve learned - that it’s not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts. I’ve learned - that you should never ruin an apology with an excuse. I’ve learned - that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you’d better know something. I’ve learned - that you shouldn’t compare yourself to the best others can do. I’ve learned - that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life. I’ve learned - that it’s taking me a long time to become the person I want to be. I’ve learned -

Believe in Yourself

There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren’t the way you had hoped they would be. That’s when you have to tell yourself that things will get better.   There are times when people disappoint you and let you down.   But those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself.   There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them.   Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are.   So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be.   Because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you.   Keep Believing in Yourse

Love & Marriage

One disciple went to his guru and asked for an explanation on the difference between love and marriage.   The guru told the disciple : Go to the rose garden and c ome back with the tallest rose plant. One condition is that you should not come back the same path you took while going.  The disciple went to the garden and came back empty handed.   When asked why, the disciple gave his answer: As I went in, I saw a tall beautiful tree. But I kept going on for the next tree expecting a better tree. But moving forward, I came across only smaller plants and since I cannot trace the path back, I had to return empty handed.   The guru said: This is love   Then he said: now go to the sunflower garden and bring the most beautiful sunflower plant.   Now the additional condition is that once you pluck a sunflower plant, you can't pluck another.   Now the disciple goes into the garden and comes back quickly with a plant. The guru asks, is this the most beauti

The Mind

"Mind is the most stiff organ of the body"   A true yogi realize this stiff nature of mind and start working upon it. Working upon body is the first s tep towards spirituality. if you work sincerely upon body you can achieve require state of the body within certain months.but working upon mind requires years. just don't satisfy only with body.   'yoga is union of body mind and soul '. Our body can not connect with soul untill we work upon mind. There are the people who just work upon the body. and don't realize the great power of mind. In those people they have lot more power to do but they don't have direction. Force without direction creates more chaos. Only body oriented yoga creates stupid yogi. There are people who neglect the body and just waste their time in unnecessary intellectual discussion and philosophy. Their work becomes only information but it never converts into wisdom. They don't realize the value of body. They som

Management Lesson

One night when the whole world was sleeping, a thief broke into the house of a washer man. The washer man was fast  asleep but the donkey and the dog were awake. The dog decided not to bark since the master did not take good care of him and wanted to teach him a lesson. The donkey got worried and said to the dog that if he doesn't bark, the donkey will have to do something himself. The dog did not change his mind and the donkey started braying loudly. Hearing the donkey bray, the thief ran away, the master woke up and started beating the donkey for braying in the middle of the night for no reason. Moral of the story: One must not engage in duties other than his own. Now take a new look at the same story. The washer man was like a typical top management corporate guy. He had the fundas of looking at the bigger picture and thinking out of the box. He was convinced that there must be some reason for the donkey to bray in the night. He wa

Why Karna should be considered a role model ?

Image
Once Krishna and Arjuna were walking towards a village. Arjuna was pestering Krishna, asking him why Karna should be considered a role model for all Donors (don ations) and not himself. Krishna, wanting to teach him a lesson snapped his fingers. The mountains beside the path they were walking on turned into gold. Krishna said "Arjuna, distribute these two mountains of gold among the villagers, but you must donate every last bit of gold". Arjuna went into the village, and proclaimed he was going to donate gold to every villager, and asked them to gather near the mountain. The villagers sang his praises and Arjuna walked towards the mountain with a huffed up chest. For two days and two continuous nights Arjuna shovelled gold from the mountain and donated to each villager. The mountains did not diminish in their slightest. Most villagers came back and stood in queue within minutes. After a while, Arjuna, started feeling exhausted, but not ready to let go of his ego

Promise Yourself - by Christian D. Larson

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble. To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words but great deeds. To live in faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are t

Life Journey

Life is like a journey on a train...with its stations...with changes of routes...and with accidents.   At birth, we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believe they will always travel on our side.   However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone. As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant, e.g. our siblings, friends, children, and even the love of our life. Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go unnoticed so that we don't realize that they vacated their seats.   This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells. Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers...requiring that we give the best of ourselves.   The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way - love, forgive, and offer the best

There is a Solution

A father left 17 Camels as an Asset for his Three Sons. When the Father passed away, his sons opened up the will. The Will of the Father stated that the Eldest ... son should get Half of 17 Camels,  The Middle Son should be given 1/3rd of 17 Camels, Youngest Son should be given 1/9th of the 17 Camels, As it is not possible to divide 17 into half or 17 by 3 or 17 by 9, the sons started to fight with each other.   So, they decided to go to a wise man.   The wise man listened patiently about the Will. The wise man, after giving this thought, brought one camel of his own & added the same to 17. That increased the total to 18 camels. Now, he started reading the deceased father’s will.   Half of 18 = 9. So he gave 9 camels to the eldest son.   1/3rd of 18 = 6. So he gave 6 camels  to the middle son.   1/9th of 18 = 2. So he gave 2 camels  to the youngest son.   Now add this up: 9 + 6 + 2 = 17 & This leaves 1 camel, which the wise man took b

The Greatest Gift is Love

A woman came out of her house and saw three old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard.  She d id not recognize them.   She said, “I don’t think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat.” “Is the man of the house home?” they asked. “No,” she said, “he’s out.” “Then we cannot come in,” they replied.   In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened. “Go tell them I am home and invite them in!” The woman went out and invited the men in.  “We do not go into a house together,” they replied. “Why is that?” she wanted to know. One of the old men explained, “His name is Wealth,” said pointing to one of his friends, and said, pointing to another one, “He is Success, and I am Love.”   Then he added, “Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home.”   The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. “How nice!” he said. “since that
