Pronunciation
One Indian passenger named Anantharaman Subbaraman arrived at an
international airport outside India for his flight. He was told he is too early
and asked to wait until authorities would call his
name in the public address system.
He ended up waiting for his for about 3 hrs for the authorities
to call his name...
Finally, when we went to find out, he was informed that the
flight has already departed. He got wild and went to the authorities and
shouted why they haven't called his name as promised.
They retaliated & claimed that they have been calling him
for the last hour and a half...... and were wondering why he hadn't responded!
The man swear that he dint hear his name even once, the
immigration officer immediately announced his name once again on the microphone
to prove his point:
'Another man, Super man, please report to Gate 6'
Learning:
Though it appears funny, it hurts when people pronounce your name wrongly. Remember to always take the effort to pronounce people’s name correctly, you unconsciously are telling them you care and respect them even before you speak anything else.
